You herd right! We're hosting our very first run!

 

Come out and get moo-ving with Farmhouse Garden Animal Home’s first ever “Sanctuary Stride” October 9-11. We intend to make this an annual event, and you'll be able to say you were there when it all began. This year the run is "virtual" but in future years it will be a normal run on the trails near Uxbridge with an event back at the sanctuary afterward.

 

Work up a sweat, enjoy your favourite trails, and burn those cow-lories. 

 

 

What is the Virtual Run?

​

Due to the global pandemic, and with the need to practise social distancing, we wanted to ensure that we could host fundraisers that were inclusive, fun, and safe for all of our supporters. So we are getting innovative, by hosting a run that you can do from the comfort of your own favourite routes!

 

How does it work?

​

 

1.  Register:

 

 

You can sign up for a casual 5km or 10km run/walk, or a competitive 10km run (proof of time and route will be required for the competitive run). The registration fee is $30.00 CAD for each participant. You will receive a t-shirt with the event logo on it (see above) and a welcome package for participating, that will arrive at your door just in time for you to rock on your run!

2.  Fundraise:

​

 

Once you’ve registered, and up until the day of your run, we highly encourage you to fundraise! The proceeds will go back to the farm sanctuary and used towards feed, bedding, and medical care! As a thank you, we will be sending our care packages filled with exclusive FGAH merchandise and more (based off the merit amount raised)!

We've added some fundraising pages to our website that visitors can use to sponsor you. Please create an account to set up your fundraising profile using the button above - it's quick and easy. You can then share your personal fundraising page with people you know, and you'll show up on our "Runners" page where people can click on your name to go to your personal fundraising page.

 

 

3.  RUN & Have Fun!:

 

On the weekend of October 9th, you will have received your gear (t-shirt) and have fundraised for the cause. From October 9 to October 11, you may run your route! For those participating in the casual run, there is no requirement to prove your distance or time, but we highly encourage you to track and post your run using our hashtag and tag our social media! #SanctuaryStride2020 and @Farmhousegardenanimalhome
