Mother's Day Visiting Day, Sunday, May 13th
The month of May was certainly a special one at the sanctuary. Many gathered to join us in a Mother's day celebration which saw the cows return to pasture for the summer after what we can all appreciate was a long, cold winter. It was a delight to see them frolic and fawn as Mike made the call to signal that days of warmer weather and plentiful green fields were finally here. For many of the younger residents, this was their first taste of spring, which added an even sweeter touch to a day already filled with remembrance for love, life, companionship and motherhood.

Volunteer Appreciation
We would like to highlight a loyal volunteer at the farm, Taunya, who hosted a Respect Animals Week (RAW) at a local school this past month, which raised funds for animal organizations including Farmhouse! Taunya along with her partner Mike, as well their children Oatie and Tilda (pictured above) deserve a huge thanks for the time and resources they have dedicated to the project. Through their busy lives they still manage to help both on-site and behind the scenes, making sure things run smoothly. Thank you for teaching compassion!
